A remarkable achievement is a successful accomplishment that is unconventional or special in nature. It can also be something that is achieved after a lot of work. 
In my 30+ years IT careers, while working for multiple clients, I have come across lot of achievements, but still I can remember some remarkable achievements:
In Academic area: 
Successfully completed Masters and Doctoral program after 20+ years gap in academic studies. Actually, I took admission for Masters when I was searching B.Tech College for my son. These were done parallel to my regular employment - I didn't take a break for my study.
In Professional area: 

• Convincing the customers and clinching huge deals with technical expertise 

• Demo system setup made using Cisco UCS for SAP HANA Announcement during SAPPHIRE by Hasso Plattner, Co-founder and former Chairman-Supervisory Board of SAP and Vishal Sikka, former CTO of SAP AG. SAPPHIRE NOW 2011 Keynote - Click here

• Successfully completed SAP SD Benchmark with EMC Clariion Storage having SAN disk array; it included Oracle RAC Database setup for SAP System.
